Matriculation Ceremony at Community Health Nurses Training College: A Celebration of Dedication and New Beginnings

The Community Health Nurses Training College today came alive with colour, energy, and pride as newly admitted students were officially welcomed into the institution during the 2025 Matriculation Ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of our fresh trainees, symbolizing their commitment to the noble profession of nursing and community health.

Under beautifully arranged canopies, students dressed in their crisp green-and-white and cream uniforms filled the ceremonial grounds with excitement and anticipation. The standing formation at the center of the event showcased selected students taking their oaths, representing discipline, professionalism, and the values the college upholds.

Faculty members, continuing students, and invited guests observed with admiration as the matriculants pledged to uphold the ethics of nursing, maintain academic excellence, and contribute positively to Ghana’s healthcare system. The ceremony was not only a formal induction but also a celebration of hard work, dreams, and the bright future ahead for each trainee.

This year’s matriculation highlights the college’s unwavering commitment to training competent, compassionate, and community-focused healthcare professionals. As these young nurses begin their journey, the entire CHNTC family stands firm in supporting their growth academically, emotionally, and professionally.

We congratulate all matriculants and wish them success as they embark on this transformative path in healthcare. Their journey has just begun, and the future of community health looks even brighter with them in it.

Raising Hope and Awareness – A Recap of Our Breast Cancer Awareness Event

At the Community Health Nurses’ Training College, we believe in educating not only our students but also the communities we serve. In line with this commitment, we recently hosted a profoundly impactful Breast Cancer Awareness event on 15th October 2025 at our Wamale Campus. The program was designed to empower individuals with knowledge, encourage proactive health practices, and strengthen our role as advocates for public health. The overwhelming turnout from students, faculty, and community members was a testament to the critical importance of this cause.

The event featured a lineup of engaging and educational activities. A keynote address was delivered, invaluable insights into the latest advancements in detection and treatment was given. Our final-year nursing students also conducted interactive play, demonstrating proper breast self-examination techniques and facilitating open, judgment-free Q&A sessions. The atmosphere was one of shared learning and support, perfectly embodying the community health spirit we instill in our trainees.

The impact of the day extended beyond clinical facts. Powerful, heartfelt testimonies from breast cancer survivors reminded everyone of the very human face of this disease, highlighting the critical importance of early detection and emotional resilience. The event also fostered a powerful sense of solidarity, with attendees sharing their own experiences and forging a supportive network. It was a moving demonstration of how community health nursing bridges the gap between medical knowledge and compassionate care.

As future community health nurses, our students witnessed firsthand the power of preventive education. This event reinforced our college’s dedication to producing healthcare leaders who are not only skilled clinicians but also empathetic educators and champions for their communities’ well-being. We extend our deepest gratitude to our guest speakers, partners, volunteers, and everyone who attended for making this event a resounding success. The fight against breast cancer continues, and we are proud to be on the front lines, raising awareness and saving lives, one conversation at a time.
