The Tamale Community Health Nurses’ Training College (CHNTC) was the first to be established in Ghana in May, 1960. The college is located at Sakasaka a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana. It started training with 20 female students as pioneers but currently the student population stands at 486, out of which are 360 females and 126 males.

The college offers two programmes: RCN and NAP, and a Top-up programme for practicing certificate Community Health Nurses. It is accredited by GTEC and affiliated to KNUST, and regulated professionally by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana. It has two campuses and a clinic offering health services to students, staff and residents.
